  • All payments must be made in advance prior to departing.

  • No personal checks will be accepted.

  • Payments can be made directly through the website during the scheduling process using a credit card through PayPal or through your own PayPal account

Refunds
  • Weather is the usually the main reason for refunds. With the unpredictability of Minnesota weather, we watch the weather constantly. If an outing is cancelled due to weather prior to starting, outings can be re-scheduled for another time or money can be refunded. If bad weather causes an outing to be cut short, either a refund is issued or the remaining time can be credited towards a future outing.

  • Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled reservation in order to get a refund. If an outing is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, no refund will be issued. To cancel call us at 952-255-9940. Please try to talk to a live person. If you can't reach a live person, please leave a message. You can also send us a text.

  • If an outing is in progress and is stopped or cancelled due to weather, a credit for the unused time will be given, or time can be added onto future charters.

  • Once an outing is started, if a customer decides not to use the fully-allotted time, they will not get a refund for the time not used. However, the Captain may elect to give credit towards a future outing

Lake Minnetonka History

Since the late 1800s, Lake Minnetonka has been a destination playground for the world's rich and famous, as well as a summer home and cabin area for many Minneapolis residents. Railroad and streetcar service from the Twin Cities brought visitors and residents to the Lake.

Lake Minnetonka had a fleet of seven steam powered Express Boats. One boat was 300 feet long. These boats departed from Excelsior and Deephaven taking visitors and residents to the many luxury hotels and lakeside cabins scattered around the lake.

The Sioux Indians were the original residents of Lake Minnetonka. They named the lake "minne", which is water, and "tonka" which means great. The lake has been called one of the most beautiful in the world, with sparkling clear water, hundreds of lovely islands, and secluded bays.

During the early 1900s, there were dozens of luxury hotels around the lake. Nearly every hotel was lost to fire. Over the years, summer cabins were gradually replaced by magnificent, year-round lakeside mansions, which seem to grow bigger and more opulent every year.

The 14,500 acre Lake Minnetonka is made up of more than 30 separate bays and lakes connected by a series of channels and boasts over 130 miles of shoreline. The deepest part is 90 feet.

Fishing is rated in the top 10 nationally for largemouth bass. There are also countless northern pike, walleye, muskie, crappie, and panfish, all of which will eagerly "bite" for even novice fishers.

Sailing and powerboating have always been hugely popular here and the variety of watercraft, both antique and modern is amazing! A group of larger charter cruises are available, including a refurbished original steamboat, which offer sightseeing cruises around certain areas of the lake.
